Boca Raton - A Special Feature Education.




Boca Raton is home to several private and religious schools. There are various public schools provided and managed by the school districts of Palm Beach country. There are four public high schools in Boca Raton:
1. Boca Raton community high school serves the eastern part of the city. 2. Spanish River community high school serves the western part of the city and parts of unincorporated Boca Raton. 3. Olympic heights community high school serves the west-central unincorporated areas. 4. West Boca Raton community high school serves the farwest areas.
Students from parts of Delray Beach and other parts of south Florida also attend these four high schools. The five public middle schools of this area are:
• Boca Raton community middle. • Don Estridge high tech middle school. • Eagles landing middle school. • Loggers run community middle school. • Omni middle school
The twelve public elementary schools of this area are:
1. Addison public elementary. 2. Hammock Pointe elementary. 3. Boca Raton elementary. 4. J.C Mitchell elementary. 5. Calusa elementary. 6. Sandpiper shores elementary. 7. Sunrise Park elementary. 8. Coral Sunset Park elementary. 9. Del prad elementary. 10. Verde elementary. 11. Waters edge elementary. 12. Whispering pines elementary.
Florida Atlantic University held its first classes in Boca Raton in 1964. LYNN University is a four year co-educational institution of Boca Raton. Digina media Arts College founded in 2001 offers bachelors and masters degrees in computer animation and graphic design.
Crime and controversies:
In the United States Boca Raton was the site of first anthrax attack. When two employees at the American media building were exposed to the agent while one person died they fell ill and later recovered. American media had permanently shifted their head quarters to New York City. Boca Raton is known as the “spam capital of the world”, according to MessageLabs. They say that the city’s history had an involvement in confidence tricks. The city was once called “the only coastal city in Florida where there are more sharks on land than in the water”. According to a number of US federal indictments the Gambino family continues to operate in Boca Raton. In July, a resident of Boca Raton named Scott Levine was charged with the largest computer crime indictment in United States history.
Transportation:
1. air:
• The Boca Raton airport is located immediately adjacent to Florida Atlantic University and interstate-95. It is a general aviation airport. It has a control tower which is manned from 700 to 2300. • Another air port is the “palm beach international airport”. It is located in the West Palm Beach. • The third airport is the fort Lauderdale-Hollywood international airport. It is located to the south in Fort Lauderdale.
2. highways:
• There are 4 highways namely. U.S.highway 1, U.S.highway 441, interstate 95, and state highway 808.
3. rail:
• There is the tri-rail commuter rail system serves the city with its Boca Raton station. • Then there is the west of I-95 which is located in the south side of yamato road. • CSX transportation and the Florida east coast railway also serve the city.
